You can not usually tell if you have a good doctor until after you see her or him for the first time. The way to know if your doctor is good or not is when you see him if he actually pays attention to you and listens to your problems. It seems more and more lately that doctors are becoming over worked because they are taken in too many patients and they can not handle it. They are rushing through the exams so they can get to the next patient. This is hardly fair, we all need doctors that want to listen and help more than he wants that money from all the patients he has.
There are even some that will schedule four patients all at the same time. When they do this it is not possible for him to see them all and give them the time and attention they need. I personally try to use a doctor that has very few patients. A doctor that has few patients will take the time to examine you thoroughly and give you all the attention you need without rushing you.
They are a very important part of our world. Without them people would be dying all the time with no hope of surviving. Some of them make it their lives mission to save as many people as possible. Although there are still the ones that are strictly in it for the money. They do there best in their eyes but not in ours.
When we see a
doctor we want one that is going to take enough time to learn our medical history and know who we are. If you find one of these then stick with him. If something happens to you a doc that knows your medical background will be more likely to save your life than a doc that knows nothing about you or your medical background.
I personally have dealt with good ones and not so good ones. One
doctor almost killed me because he made a mistake. Another doctor saved me because he found a problem I didn't even know existed.
When you first meet a doctor you can usually tell from the first time you meet whether you are going to get good treatment from him or not. If he is rushing through your exam and not listening to you because he is concerned with getting to the next patient then find a new doc quickly. You will eventually find the right one for you.
You deserve the best possible treatment available. There is no reason to settle for someone that does not seem to care about your problems when there are plenty of them that do care. I understand that they have a very stressful job and I appreciate all that they do for everyone around the world.
I think if they just realized that the more patients they have the less attention they are able to give to each patient. Also remember that when a doctor says something you do not have to agree. If you think he is wrong then go see another
doctor for another opinion. I think it best to seek another opinion if you disagree with your doctor.
